Have your melody recording and lyrics ready. Use Style to describe the sound you want; Duration sets the requested length of the new song, not the length of your upload.
How It Works
How to build the song
1. Upload a short melody recording
Add one MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A or AAC file up to 10 MB and no longer than 30 seconds. Record the melody clearly enough that you can hear the line you want to develop.
2. Add the style and lyrics
Enter the genre, instruments or vocal character in Style. For example: “Acoustic folk, gentle vocal, fingerpicked guitar.” Enter your words in Lyrics, using up to 3,500 characters. Both fields are required. You can use [verse], [chorus] and [bridge] tags to mark sections.
3. Choose the song duration and process
Set Duration to 30 Seconds, 60 Seconds or 120 Seconds, review the charge, then click Process. Listen to how the melody was interpreted and whether the sung words match your lyrics. Download the WAV file if you want to keep that version.
Listen for the musical choices
Treat the output as a new song draft, rather than proof that the recording was reproduced note for note. Listen for changes in phrasing, pronunciation and where the sections begin. If one of those matters to your song, decide whether to revise the lyrics or style before another generation.
Common questions
No. This workflow requires lyrics as well as a style description and the audio reference.
No. The reference recording is limited to 30 seconds. The 120 Seconds option requests the length of the generated song.
Hum to Song is for generating music from a supplied idea. It is not a song-identification search. If you want the title or artist of a tune you remember, use a music-identification service instead of treating a generated result as a match.
