Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about MiOffice.
General
What is MiOffice?
MiOffice is an AI-powered office suite for PDF, Word, Excel, images, video, and AI processing. All 66+ applications run entirely in your browser — files are never uploaded to any server.
Is MiOffice really free?
Yes. The full suite is free with no time limits. MiOffice Pro ($3 one-time) removes download limits for heavy users.
Do I need to create an account?
No. MiOffice works immediately with no signup, no email, and no personal information required.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Any modern browser with WebAssembly support.
Privacy & Security
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Never. Every file is processed locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Files never leave your device.
Is MiOffice GDPR compliant?
Yes. Since no files are uploaded and no personal data is collected, MiOffice is GDPR compliant by design.
Can I use this for sensitive documents?
Absolutely. Government agencies and legal firms use MiOffice because files stay on-device. No data processor agreement needed.
Does MiOffice track my usage?
We use privacy-respecting analytics (self-hosted Umami) to count page views. No personal data is collected or sold.
Accessibility
Is MiOffice Section 508 compliant?
Yes. MiOffice meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards and Section 508 requirements. All interfaces are keyboard-navigable and screen-reader compatible.
Can government agencies use MiOffice?
Yes. MiOffice is 508 compliant, GDPR safe, and processes zero data on servers — making it suitable for federal use.
Technical
How does browser-based processing work?
MiOffice uses WebAssembly (WASM) to run native-speed processing engines directly in your browser. PDF.js handles PDFs, FFmpeg WASM handles video, and ONNX Runtime powers AI features.
Is there a file size limit?
The practical limit depends on your device memory. Most devices handle files up to 500MB. For very large files, we recommend desktop Chrome.
Does it work offline?
Once the application loads, most features work offline. The initial load requires internet to download the WebAssembly modules.
