Check the processing mode and charge before starting. Eligible on-device tasks may offer a guest trial or daily allowance; cloud processing requires sign-in and credits.
Start with the format your destination accepts. For a logo with a transparent background, choose PNG or WebP instead of JPEG.
How It Works
Choose a format your destination accepts
The Convert To menu offers Jpeg, Png and Webp, with Png selected by default.
| Convert To | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|
| Jpeg | Use when the destination asks for JPEG. A JPEG cannot retain transparent areas. |
| Png | Use for a PNG copy of a graphic or screenshot, including a transparent background. Converting a JPEG to PNG does not restore missing detail. |
| Webp | Use when your destination accepts WebP. It can retain transparency, but check the saved result rather than assuming it will be smaller. |
Convert and save your images
Add up to 50 JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP files, each up to 50 MB. In Options, choose Convert To once for the whole batch.
Click Convert, then use Download for one result or Download All for a batch. Open a saved copy in the app where you need it and check its format, dimensions and background.
Check resolution and animation before replacing a file
Large images can come back with fewer pixels after conversion, especially on a phone. Check the saved dimensions before using the copy for print or further editing.
Use GIF input for a still-image conversion, not to keep its moving frames. Keep the original GIF when the animation matters.
Keep your original until you’ve checked the converted copy. Converting a JPEG back to PNG cannot bring back a transparent background that was already removed.
Questions about converting images
No. This page offers Convert To, without a Quality control. Use Compress Image when you need format and quality controls together.
No. Use the separate HEIC to JPG or HEIC to PNG tool for that input format.
Usually, no. Renaming a file does not change how the image data is encoded. Use conversion when changing between different formats, such as PNG and JPEG. JPEG and JPG are an exception because they are two extensions for the same format.
